Now in its
ffifth year, Melbourne Music Week (MMW) takes over Melbourne once again
with a carefully curated program of imaginative and eclectic events.
Melbourne Music Week celebrates and supports the city's thriving,
world-class music scene, and the program this year is the biggest yet.
More than 100 events, more than 230 artists, and a staggering 75 event
partners come together to create a diverse line-up, staged in almost 60
unique locations across the city. More than just a music festival,
Melbourne Music Week brings together a vast array of creative industries
to create a colourful mash-up of music, art, multimedia, film and
everything in between. Industry veterans preform alongside new talent,
and Melbourne's celebrated venues are ignited alongside the city's
hidden gems. Melbourne Music Week is the only event of its type in
Australia. Many of the events featured are exclusive to Melbourne, and
all have a unique connection to our music city. 75% of artists involved
Melbourne Music Week's program are from Victoria, and through
partnerships with a range of local promoters, venues, labels and
businesses, the event creates remarkable opportunities for artists and
audiences alike. Proudly produced by the City of Melbourne, Melbourne
Music Week utilises a unique model of co-production to support the
sector, with all event revenue funnelling back into the industry itself.
